About

Enthusiasm is the main driver of my design processes. Goals, creativity, and turning ideas into things are passions of mine.

I was led to this field after graduating with a BA in cultural anthropology and being in several people-oriented roles ranging from C-level human resources positions and fitness training. These experiences cultivated several skills and helpful habits including SMART goal-setting, motivating (self and others), and ideation-implementation practices. But, ultimately they culminated in a curiosity about UX.

I love figuring out what makes people tick. The fact that I’m able to take that natural propensity and make peoples’ lives easier as a result is thrilling to me. Product design can be a great joy: from developing personas that resonate with some of the many I’ve met on my path and building a product for them as proxies, to blocking out several sets of wireframe and iteration.

My long-term plans include UX direction and tackling high-level design as products become more sophisticated and evolve into more capable technologies. I like the idea of directing the development of products that assist in sports/fitness training or creative content creation (audio, in particular). In five years I’d like to see myself managing an enthusiastic team driven to deliver delightful experiences that contribute to user health or the way they share/create beauty.

Being trained in several disciplines, I am comfortable being in environments that present opportunities to learn new skills, software, and processes. Therefore, I’m well-suited for Agile/Lean UX teams and in situations that demand flexibility. In a team I am dependable, ideas-oriented, and collaborative. Independently, I am self-starting, motivated, and strategic. In my own element, I am a creative, conscientious planner that loves contemplating human nature.

During my free time I love weightlifting, surfing, making music, reading, and just being outside wherever I am in the world.
